Medicare Assignment of Benefit Changes

Important update:

Medicare has updated its rules for bulk-billed appointments and requires us to securely document your Assignment of Benefit—your formal permission for Medicare to pay your rebate directly to your doctor.

To make this as quick and easy as possible, our clinic is now offering an electronic option using a secure, paperless digital system using our practice software, Best Practice Premier.

What you need to do at your next visit:

  1. Receive a text: You will be asked if you are okay to receive an SMS from us after your appointment.

  2. Click the secure link: Tap the unique link in the text message.

  3. Verify and approve: Confirm your identity using your date of birth, review your appointment details, and tap "Approve".

Quick FAQs:

  • Is there a cost? No. This replaces the old paper signature. Your appointment is still fully bulk-billed with no out-of-pocket costs.

  • Is it secure? Yes, the link is encrypted and fully complies with Australian healthcare privacy standards.

  • No smartphone? No problem. Just let our reception team know when you arrive, and we will manually print the form and ask you to sign instead.

Thank you for helping us transition to a faster, paperless system.
